I am doing makeup on a film and need to create a head wound from a car crash. How would it be stitched?
Question:
Answers:
It does depend on whether the wound is in the hair line or not. As another respondent states, wounds on faces are sutured using a much finer suture material to minimise scarring.
The need to avoid a scar in the hair line is less, they often look a bit home made!
We are increasingly using glue, as lomg as the wound isn't too deep or under too much tension.
pretty much the same way any laceration would be sutured, styles vary from doctor to doctor. The sutures would likely be small if the wound is facial to minimize scarring, but otherwise, pretty much any method is used.
