Here's one for all you health and safety professionals...?

Question: Why do large organisations typically show graphs which only depict their safety performance over the last 3 to 5 years and when you enquire about this, they just say "Ah- well, before that we used to record the data in a different way"....? So how can we seriously believe that their safety performance has consistently improved over the last 20 years or whatever?

Answers:
You can't. But if it is safe NOW, and has been getting better in those 3-5 years, does it really matter. Or are you just trying to create chaos? Get over it...

ask to see the way in which it was recorded before if they ask why just say its so the same mistakes aren't made again. no matter how something is recorded if it was done right it will show you what you want to no.
