Reall y i would just be blunt about it and be like i am sorry and i am not tryin to embarass you but your breath smells!

Just tell the person straight out, I did that one time and the guy totally took care of the problem for a while but then went right back to the usual stinky breath. I felt what the heck at least I got it out of my chest.
