How much should a contact lens exam cost?

Question:
At one doctor I've never been to it is $88 and includes the exam, follow-ups, trial pair, as well as lessons to learn to put them in. At my normal eye doctor there is ageneral eye sight exam for about $90, then a seperate contacts exam for $80 and then $15 for help learning to put them and then another $25 for cornial topography or something. I trust my normal eye doctor, but that just seems like a lot to pay when everywhere else is usually under $100. Thanks.

Answers:
on the average about 90-99 dollars for the exam, prescription and trial pair.

your first estimate sounds right.. your normal eye doctor may be doing something extra or may be prescribing much more expensive lenses to charge more.

good luck

Other Answers:
dang I pay about 100 bucks too. Sounds like your being ripped off. 15 bucks to learn how to put them in? Geez. Ask a friend. Its not hard at all.

mine is like $150 for exams and trial pair and contacts are like $300 for a year..it depends what doctor. but you can get it under $100?
