How long is HEARTBURN is supposed to last?

Question:

Answers:
Heartburn can last a short amount of time to several days. Go for the OTC medicine (Prilosec, Zantac, Maalox, Rolaids) and stay away from anything with acid in it (orange juice, etc.) for the short runs. Anything longer should be discussed with your doctor. Progressive burning may be GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).

Nexium.com is a good site for information on both heartburn and GERD.
Well, when it occurs it can vary in duration. I don't think it is supposed to last a set amount of time. For how long you keep getting it for.same thing. TUMS works very quickly for me.
heartburn can last as long as a full day and night all the time. there are medications available in drug stores. if they don't work for you, see your doctor. they have stronger medicine available for heartburn.
Only a few minutes, I think.

now that the dummycrats have complete control and Hillary to take the presidentcy in 2008 I would say 10 years..with another 20 to clean up their mess of milk and cookies that Hillary will lay out for UBL, Kim and that Irainain nitwit trio.
Depends what caused the heart burn? And how severe is the problem. Remember occasioanlly heat attack may also present as heart burn. Some times infections like Giardia may burn heart. If ulcer is ever it may last very long. Proper treatment with antacids etc. may bring quik relief!
try drinking some vinegar just a teaspoon . or stop eating simple sugars
Have you tried any of the remedies suggested. I swear the hot boiled water sipped works every time. The baking soda one sounds good too. Either should help it subside almost immediately.

I been having heartburn for almost all my adult life. My doctor told me that If your heartburn lasts more than 3 days, or if it's coming and going for a month, you really need to see a doctor. That could be signs of different kind of diseases, like gastritis, acid reflux disease or others. Be sure to check that, because if it is frequent your esophagus starts to suffer damage. I hope this anwer help you to look for more information.
