scars following operation?
Question:
Answers:
I learned this from a physical therapist I used to work for. Get some Palmers Cocoa Butter in the canister and take a little and spread it over the scar. Then take a finger opposite the wrist that was operated on and rub the Cocoa butter in by moving and rubbing your finger from side to side, not up and down, all the way up and down the scar. This will make your scar to "Lay down" and make it less visible. It's called a scar massage. Hope this helps.

Once the incision has healed start using either liquid vitamin E (found at health food stores) or get a stick of pure cocoa butter at the drug store. Keep using it several times a day for about 6-8 weeks and it will work. You'll hardly see the scar!
After surgery, use hydrogen peroxide on a Q-tip and clean the suture line a few times a day to remove clotted blood and serum...it also cleanses the wound too.
I agree about the vitamin E - most stores sell the capsules and you can just poke a whole in them and squeeze the oil on as soon as it's not an open wound anymore. It's cheaper than those big band-aid lookin things that do the same thing.
Nothing you can do to prevent the scarring . It s the union of the tissues which is being cut and the cells died at the scarring and united by healing..
Usually, the surgeon will attempt to make the scar as invisible as possible. Talk to him/her about using traditional stitches vs. liquid stitches also. If you are unhappy about the appearance of the scar following your surgery, you can use the topical cream mederma to smooth it out.
Palmer's makes really good products with cocoa butter (which is fantastic for reducing scars) in them and they have something specifically for scars.
I would also recommend something called "Mederma" which is made specifically to reduce scarring of any kind.
girls love scars dont reduce it
