I am 15 and have tendenitis please help me!!?

Question:
I play viola and would love to play guitar but in my left wrist I have tendenitis. Is there anything that could help the pain so I can still play?

Answers:
use antiinflamitories, ice the tendon when it hurts, and try a brace

Other Answers:
sorry doll you need to rest, I have the very same thing in my elbow right now, the last thing I wanted to do was rest but every suggestion on here told me to take time off. R.I.C.E. rest ice compression elevation - which I already new

Sorry but that what you gotta do 'rest'
I have it to...real painful. Anti-inflamatories (Ibrofeun, or however you spell it)

The thing that worked best for me though was a TENS machine. Cost about £50 at Boots but they really do work.
I take Glucosamine sulphate. I get tendonitis in my foot and it helps me. Ask at the health food shop and they will help you find it. It`s totally safe too.
Go to your GP. He may suggest a simple steroid injection. I suffered "trigger thumb" recently - where upon bending the thumb, the tendon painfully catches as it moves through its sheath. Three weeks after the injection, it cured. I wonder if your problem could be similar.
Well, I had the same twice on my left wrist and twice to my ankles. You need a cream to help your wrist, and rest it.

My ankle tendenitis lasted for 6 months, on the wrist lasted 2 months each time.
i am afraid northcarrlight gave you the full answer. There is no real option here. If you dont rest properly it will go on much longer or keep coming back. Is horrible to have to stop playing I know but look at it as an insurance rather than a punishment. Hopefully it wont be long before you are up and running properly again. I used to get a torn shoulder muscle from the position I played in and at your age i would play through the pain as I was quite passionate. Thing is, I still, many many years later get probs with that muscle. Us old and sensible ones say rest!! You of course will do a bit of both rest and play I should think!
hi
poor thing...my husband take something im not very good at spelling but here goes
glucosphamine - im sure that is not how u spell it but its very good for joints and aches.
to be honest with u i think your wrist needs a rest.
You could ask about a cortisone injection.
