How do you help relieve swelling of a wound?
Question:
Answers:
apply ice the first 24 hours to reduce the swelling, then after 24 hours apply heat to increase the blood flow to the area for healing. NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or aleve to reduce inflamation will help in addition to the ice/heat.
Other Answers:
Ice!
Apply Ice in a bag for 15 minutes, then take some Ibuprophen, but NOT if you have been drinking.
Put something really cold like an ice pack on it.
Ice pack 10-15min
Ice pack. If you don't have one (although, I don't see why you couldn't make one) use a bag of frozen veggies.
use an ice pack.
if it was something besides your lip, id say to keep it up above your heart. thats what i had to do when i broke my foot. if it was elevated, the swelling went down without the ice pack.
but ice does help
Ice pack on it - but be aware that's only helpful for the first twenty minutes or so. Keep it clean and if it's more than half an inch long and deeper than just a scratch, y'might need to have it sutured by a physician.
first you'll need to stop being a ***** and let it go down by its self
