A question regarding Sominex?

Question: I've been having a horrible time falling asleep lately. I've started exercising more and eating better in hopes that this will help, but I also purchased some Sominex just to make the transition a little bit easier. So, I'd like to know how long Sominex is effective for. If I take a pill and wait an hour before I go to sleep, will the effectiveness wear off?

Sominex is merely diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Save your money and go to the dollar store and buy a package of diphenhydramine, probably 24- 25mg tablets for $1. As to how long it takes, a 50 mg dose usually takes about 30 minutes to feel the effects and it lasts around 4 hours.

You should be feeling really sleepy an hour after you take it. You should sleep for 6-8 hours.

medicgvc is absoulutely correct. go to the dollar store. IT generally takes about one half hour for the pill to work.
