Any Welfare recipients out there?

Question:
... . ..who can tell me whether or not they can get a prescription to obtain an over-the-counter medicine? The one I'm thinking of now costs me triple what it did when my insurance paid part and I only paid 'co-pay'.
My reason for asking is the prelude to my own attempt to get a prescription - I figure if Medicare or Medicaid helps the poor get needed medication - which they should - then maybe my insurance carrier should continue to pay their part for the stuff I need even though it has been removed from the prescription list.
You need not be on Welfare to answer if you know the answer. Thanks.

Answers:
nope... the medical field changed it for everyone, even me being on state ins can not get over the counter meds with coupon anymore
