What about diabetes worries you???

Question: I'm doing a reseach about what really worries one about diabetes. Almost everyone nowadays know its symptoms, treatments, etc. But what really is in your mind when you hear the word or that someone just got diagnose with it?

My bf got it when he was young. What worries me is his sugar goes up high and then drops super low. He has been in intensive care 3 times now. I have had to dial 911 a few other times. It scares me when he goes into a diabetic coma. We never know when or why. He goes to the doctor and takes insulin shots but still hasn't been stable...we just want to live a normal life..
