Quitting Smoking Naturally?

Question:
I've been smoking for a while now, and I really wanna quit. I dont want the nicotine Patchs or the pill or the gum, any natural home remedies? I know theres alot of ex-smokers so come on and help me out! And no.. any other type of smoking material is not an option.

Answers:
When I quit, I ate tootsie roll suckers.
Any time I got a craving, I would wait 10 minutes to see if it would pass, and if not, I'd eat a tootsie roll pop.

Worked great for me!

I've heard a lot of people say it's the whole hand to the mouth thing that's the hardest to conquer. I still chew on gum and stuff so maybe there's truth to that.

Either way, gum and suckers are better for you than cigarettes.

Good luck!

Other Answers:
i went cold turkey. i wasn't the nicest person for a little while but I've heard that if you can go 24hrs w/o a cig, you can quit. best of luck to you.
I smoked for about 10 yrs (a pack a day) and I quit about a yr & half ago. I did several things which helped me quit coldturkey. I started working out about 2 months before my quit date. Studies show people who started excercising shortly before they quit had a lower relapse rate. It made me feel good about myself and it motivated me to want to quit for my health. I also stopped doing things that made me wanna smoke. I used to go to the bar and drink quite often. When I was in the bar I smoked like a chimney....So I stopped going to the bar for the first 8 months. I don't know what your trigger is but it is so much easier to quit if you identify your triggers and avoid them like the plague. I ate a lot. Now just cause you eat alot doesn't mean you have to gain weight eat things like apples, oranges, or nuts etc. Read books and websites about quiting. If you know someone who has quit seek that person out for support. And Lastly you gotta believe your stronger than the cigarettes. If you don't believe it now trick yourself into believing. I used to talk to myself out loud and say things like "I'm stronger than these stupid cigarettes" or "I'm refuse to lose this battle with a stupid tobacco plant" Say Things like this out loud and often. Even if you don't believe them now after you say them for a while your mind will start to accept these things as fact. Its almost like brainwashing yourself. I don't know if these things will work for you but it's worth a try; what have you got to lose except a habit.
