what causes body temp to drop? Extreme hot and cold sensitivity now, any ideas?

Question:
My body temp dropped from 98.6 to 97.3 and has stayed there.
If I take a nap, when I get up I'm freezing and have an inner trembling. Then sometimes I'm way to hot. There is never an inbetween now. Thanks

Answers:
Def have your TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) checked, but save some cash and have your PCP do it. It's a simple blood test, and if it's abnormal then they can refer you to an endocronoligist. Good luck!

Other Answers:
Go to an endocrinologist and have your hormones evaled. Like the thyroid hormone for example.
philla manilla.
It's your body's metabolism - at least that's one aspect - for example, when you're in the cold (winter time), you start shivering - ever notice even in the cold weather, you could be playing basketball or football, and find yourself sweating?

Your body is always trying to keep homeostatis - a "balance." At night, your at rest, but your body is still working, but not nearly as hard as when you're active - your sleep period is when you're body is regenerating itself. You wake up freezing because the blood flow is not as fluid, so to speak, while you're inactive.

The second you get up and start moving, you begin to produce and give off more energy - aka heat. This is also the reason why you get hungry and need to eat.

The rate that your body burns energy is metabolism. Hope that helps :)
