why does the skin on hands and feet get wrinkly in water?
Question:
Answers:
The human body has got pores all over the body apart from on the underside of the hands and the feet. So as a result of being underwater a long time the skin on the feet and hands expands and becomes wrinkly. Everywhere else on the body has pores and small hairs so does not have the prune effect.

It's similar to when you dunk a piece of paper underwater.
Your skin is porous. It absorbs water, and expands. It wrinkles at the curve, because your skin has grown larger than it would be normally, causing it to buckle.
Because the palms and soles are hairless.
They are the only parts of your body that are completely hairless and so,they absorb or soak a lot of water and lose elasticity easier.
