Could i have tendonitis from jiu jitsu?

Question:
I have been away from jiu jitsu for about a year and just restarted but I really can’t work consistently because of this pain I am having in my right arm. I am having a lot of discomfort on the outside of my elbow during class. It feels like a really bad ache and starts from the outside of my elbow all the way up to my shoulder. When I feel this pain I also notice I have a very weak grip in my hand and have trouble lifting my arm. A couple friends have suggested that it is tendonitis, but after about an hour I feel ok. Can someone tell me what this could be and ways to prevent it from happening?

Answers:
<>Of course, the smart thing to do here is see a doctor. But barring that, I would recommend a cold and hot therapy. Chill the joint first with cold packs, and then heat it with hot packs. But- if it doesn't get better pretty fast, revert to Plan A and go see that doctor!
