Is drawing on your skin bad?
Question:
Answers:
pencils are not made of lead (a common misconception, despite the name of lead); its actually graphite. Those who say you can get lead poisoning are wrong. However that doesnt mean that the graphite is safe; it may be harmful, idk.
Other Answers:
Well, I don't think its good!!
most likly cause it can sweep into the blood
maybe-the ink or graphite might come into your blood stream and damage your blood
pencil yes - can cause lead poisening if you get cut and it gets into your blood stream
It won't hurt you, if that's what you mean. I write on my hand all the time to remember things. It's fine.
depens with what
just with red ink
NO!I do it all the time.
pencil prolly snt good..it can scratch your skin and get infections from the lead/graphite..pen..can scratch you but if it works good it shouldnt be a problem..markers..I seen no real harm in
Well, it's not bad it's just not safe. There are chances of getting ink poisoning but the chances are slim. I guess to be on the safe side yah might not want to do it. It's fun though. ♥
non-toxic erasable marker is probably ok ONCE IN A WHILE. not if you're like constantly drawing tatoos. Pencil: no. Even though it's mostly Graphite, graphite can still hurt you if it gets into your blood (and lead is used a little bit still).
Pencil- You can get lead poisoning that is very harmful
Ink- Ink poisoning, also not good
Washable- Its fine to draw on your skin
Non Washable- Its hard to get off your skin but i don't think its any harm unless you inhale it.
I wouldnt do it
after a while, your skin will absorb the ink and after it absorbs too much over the years you can get reallly sick
my mother always told me not to do it. something to do with the toxicity of the ink getting into your bloodstream and leading to nasty side effects.
Yes!!
no not when u run out of paper
Not bad if it stay on your skin for a min but I rather not harming my skin by drawing on it.
Well,i think that it depends on the instrument that one decide to use .4 example if u choose a pencil then u would probably hurt yourself or if u use a paint brush no harm done.unless the paint that u use it's not toxic.:P
These are the bad things to use for writing on your skin: permanent marker, lead pencils, non-washable paint, and basically just anything toxic
The ok ones are: non-toxic markers, graphite pencils though i wouldn't recommend it, pens, and i assume washable paint
hope that helps, peace
OF COURSE! When you draw on your skin too deep the ink from the pen, marker, etc can get deep inside your skin & bloodstream and could harm you!! Don't ever draw on your skin!! Or you could get really really sick!!
Yes. When the ink or pencil or whatever you use gets on the skin, Those chemicals inside the graphite or ink will start to irritate the skin. Some people are allergic to the chemicals contained in various drawing utensils. Seriously do not draw on your skin, even if you do make sure it is washable
Yea I think that what is on your skin gets into your bloodstream, so if you ask me, it is a bad idea!!
Nope, not problematic. You can't get lead poisoning from using a pencil to draw on your skin, as pencils are made with graphite, not lead. Someone also mentioned ink poisoning, which doesn't exist. However, drawing/writing on yourself with pencil won't be very effective, as it won't really show up on your skin. Pens work a lot better. If you're worried about getting ink off your skin later, baby oil or rubbing alcohol will take it right off.
I write on my hands all the time so I can remember stuff. People forever offer me a piece of paper. My response is, "I'll lose a piece of paper. If I lose my hand, whatever I just wrote on it will be the least of my concerns." Writing on your wrist will help keep it from rubbing off when you wash your hands, etc.
My little sister writes on herself a lot, so we asked the doctor. He said that its probably not smart, because it could absorb into her skin. But it would take A LOT to actually do her harm, like a gallon or so. So if you just write on yourself occasionally, it probably wont hurt you.
You gotta realize that even things that go on your skin are absorbed into your body. Go with non-toxic, american made, and name brand products if you must write on your skin.
A lot of pens/crayons/markers that come from outside of the US still contain lead, even though they're not legal to sell here. Lead poisoning will kill you. Every year, imported crayons and markers are recalled from the stores because of lead.
Also, the pigments and dyes used in some paints contain lead and other components that can cause cancer or other toxicity.
So it can be bad if you're not careful.
