Baby has a 105.7 fever for 2 days. Ibuprophen brings it to normal for a few hours, any suggestions?

Question: Dr says most likely a virus, she did a cbc (slightly elevated) and throat and ear test (neg). Says to wait it out. At what point do I get a second opinion?

Seems to go way up when sleeping. She is still alert and eating a little.

that is a really high fever and its been going on for a long time. maybe its time to call her doctor again and let him/her know that the fever is still there. at the very least you may want to call the triage nurse at the hospital for advice.

Ibuprofen is effective, that is good. But I would get a second opinion...102-103 is high, but 105.7 is way high...

I would wait a few more days, and have the Dr. run more tests.
