It is not wise to apply for a job through email. Most people want you to go to them to apply for a job regardless of where you are applying.

It depends on the company that you are applying for. If there is an on-line application you can sumply fillit up. Sometimes the HR personnel responsible for hiring put their e-mail address on the ad, in this case you can send your application through the e-mail and if they are interested they will contact you and arrange for personal interview. I have done this several times and they get back to me a couple of days, sometimes the day after they call me to schedule an interview. But I think it also depends on the job you're applying. If the job is in demand they do everything to make recruitment convenient to everybody and the most convinient one is through internet.
