Question:
Answers:
I agree with the previous answerers - it should take around 6 months to fully heal.
You are really at risk of tearing it again with your heavy work so soon after surgery.
Good physical therapy after this type of surgery is crucial. They will gradually progress you through a strengthening and mobility program. Using weights is not always the best way to go. Ask your therapist to perform closed chain exercises and rhythmic stabilization exercises as a part of your program - these are more functional exercises and will make you less liable to re-injury. They should also be using modalities like electrical stimulation to decrease pain and swelling, ultrasound to help with the scar tissue, massage to stretch the scar tissue and shoulder joint. If you are not getting one-on-one time with your therapist - time to look elsewhere!!
My mainstays in treating patients include using accupressure points using microstimulation and Kinesio Tape. If you can find a therapist who knows these techniques, it will really speed up your recovery.
Good luck!

i think you are about half way, i think it took my uncle like almost 6 months
unfortunatley this cna be a very difficult injury to recover from
you need very good and specific therapy to rehabilitate the area, build muscle back up and break down scar tissue
you should be doing a lot of work with light elastic bands to stretch and strengthen the area and as you get stronger move to some weight trainign work - as well as this you shoudl be getting massage and ultrasound to help heal scar tissue
if you are not getting this seek another medical opinion or therapist - how quickly you heal is totally dependent on how good the care is you are receiving - many therapists / trainers are not skilled enough in this difficult area
I have helped 3 baseball players rehab after rotator cuff surgery and it took up to 6 months before they re-gained full mobility and pain - on the other hand I saw a woman recently who has not received good rehab at all - and after 1 year she still had poor mobility and pain ---- so seek out the right help in your rehab
I am surprised that you are back to work.I have seen longer recovery times than 3 months and you are back to work..take it easy or you will tear again.
