If you've had to wear a cam walker before, did you find it irritated you and if so how did you deal with it.

Question:
I've recently been fitted with a cam walker for a partially ruptured achilles tendon and it doesn't bother me much except it is irritating the skin right under my kneecap. How have others dealt with irritation problems when using a cam walker?

Answers:
If the material is made of foam then you can probably cut a U shape to relieve the irritation on the skin. Go back to your Dr's office and ask them if they have anything such as "moleskin" to cover the part that's bothering you. Moleskin is a type of adhesive material that is soft and kind of furry so it provides comfortable padding. If you don't want to go back to the Dr's then take a small wash cloth and roll/ tuck it at the knee. Good luck to ya!!!!
