What is the deal with not being able to put Calamine lotion over 'large' areas? I kno it says not to but why?

Question:
AHHHRRRGH! I don't know HOW these fleas got in my house but here they are.. and they have dined well. My calves have 20 to 30 bites on them. Im in agony. Calamine is the only thing that helped; benedryl cream didn't do the trick; hopefully the benedryl capsules I took will help. For now I have covered my lower legs in calamine lotion and hydrocortisone cream. Now it only itches something horrible rather than freaking unbearable. So what's the reasoning behind not putting calamine over larger areas like the bottle says not to? Can it honestly really be any worse than the agony of this allergic reaction? It's bugging me!
Ok, maybe that wasn't funny; but does anyone know?

Answers:
I don't think it would be a problem to cover larger areas, other than dry skin. Be sure to wash it all off and reapply once in a while to give your skin a "break".
it is terribly drying to your skin.thats all
try looking at walmart
