colonoscopy pain?

Question:
when i had a colonoscopy as a response to "symptoms" i was assured that i would feel no pain at all, would be totally sedated and just wake up when it was all over. WRONG!! i woke up twice during the test, due to breakthrough pain in my abdomen...SEVERE CRAMPY PAIN like i needed to have a bowel movement. they didn't tell me why i woke up. has anyone ever experienced that and found out why it happened? does it mean there's some sort of obstruction there? no results yet, so i'm really in the dark.

Answers:
I woke up during mine too. I don't remember it, but they said that I was moaning and they had to give me more pain killers.
The pain is a normal part of the procedure, but many times they don't give you enough for pain to get you through it.
Of course, they never TELL you how painful it can be, and since THEY are not the ones in pain, it's no big deal.
I went right to sleep and woke up when it was over with mine. I am sure you got a powerful laxative for it, and if that worked you are not obstructed.
