Six year old has leg pain and fever for 5 days?

My six year old has had severe leg pain and fever for 5 days and is not improving, we've been to the doctor and so far nothing, we are having blood test and xrays today. Has anyone heard of this? Thank you.

I had the severe leg pain, but no fever.but I went to a Reumatologist (sp?) he told me that i had Erythema Nodosum which can be caused by a virus or other sickness like strep throat, or TB, or any number of things (which can cause fever). He just had me take large doses of motrin, and rest untill it went away. ask your doctor about this.do maybe look it up on google and see if the symptoms match.

It would be difficult for anyone to really diagnose this problem without first seeing what the blood tests and x-rays might reveal.

Now I may be totally wrong, but, as I searched my texts for something with the same or similar symptoms, I found that even though you say there were no bites to speak of., there is a bacterium ( known as SPIROCHETE ) carried by ticks, which includes symptoms of : fever, and muscle pain. This is commonly known as Lyme Disease because it was first reported in Old Lyme, Connecticut, and is now found throughout the Eastern Coast of the United States. It is treated with anti-biotics.

It might not be a bad idea to check the blood tests for the presence of antibodies to this bacterium. Hope this helps.
