Does anyone else with Lupus get sick frequently?

Question:
I have Lupus and I am constantly getting sick. I have ear infections all the time and now I have Hand, foot, mouth disease (for the second time) which is very rare in adults. I thought Lupus caused an overactive immune system? It doesn't make sense to me.

Answers:
Lupus is a rotten disease to have - my mother was diagnosed about 12 years ago and her symptoms include - arthritic pain (especially neck pain), fatigue, intolerance to sunlight, dental problems, etc

She doesn't have ear infections or the other symptoms you describe, but with such a far reaching disease there are plenty of ways Lupus can bring you down.

Do you see a specialist every 6 months? Maybe make an unscheduled appointment and see if anything can be done or administered (I know the prospect of MORE drugs would not be terribly exciting).

it means that you were diagnosed with an illness and you should have spoken to your doctor. ask him/her direct questions. BUY A BOOK ABOUT LUPUS
