OMG! I had the same problem. Especially at night, my nose would stop up while I was trying to sleep and it drove me nuts. I would wake up at night with a nasty dry cough. So, my hubby called a "duct cleaning company" and they came with this really loud sucking vacuum tube thingy, and they cleaned our air ducts, then they replaced the air filter on our unit, and put these chemicals in the vents to kill the dust mites, spores, and allergens. I have been fine ever since. You may have to do that, especially if you live in an older home. And make sure you change your air filter to a "hepa filter."
