where can u find health insurance for a family at a reasonable pricethat one can afford?

It depends on what you mean by affordable. That is, affordable could mean low monthly payments. However, if it doesn’t provide the financial protection you need or the access to the kind of care you want, having the insurance really won’t justify the lower payments. New Jersey does have a state-sponsored health insurance program called NJ Family Care (I put the Web site below). You might want to see if you qualify for that health plan.

If you don’t qualify or are not interested, many families are choosing HMOs – health maintenance organizations. They have relatively low monthly premiums and include preventive care and regular doctor visits in their plans. However, some people like the freedom of going wherever they want to go for health care, and HMOs offer full coverage only if you visit one of their participating doctors or hospitals. The New Jersey Department of Insurance puts out a Performance Report every year on HMOs. At the bottom, I’ve included a link to the 2005 report.

The best resource for health insurance information, though, is a health insurance agent. I’d get in touch with more than one if I were you because they can offer you a wide range of insurance products. MostChoice.com is a great way to get in touch with state-licensed insurance agents. You just fill out an information request form and within two days agents will contact you to talk about family health insurance. There’s no cost or obligation, and you can also view instant free quotes on health plans available near you. All you have to do is have your questions ready and tell the agents how much you want to pay and what kind of coverage you expect to get in return.

Check with your state department of health. Any health insurance that is going to cover anything at all, is going to cost you a boat load of money though. Sorry.
there is not any that anyone can afford and not even reasonable.the advantage plan by blue cross blue shield is the only plan i know of that is easy to obtain however not too pricy. it will cover any heath problems that may come up.its premiums are based on the number in your family and pre-exsiting health conditions.i know for a family of 4 is 430.00 dollars a month but you may get a discounted rate

i bought this for my daughter after high school. it cost 74 bucks a month but the last premium i paid was 140.00 she got married and then she was covered by her spouses insurance so i dropped it saving me a thousand and more a year
Depends on where you live, and your income, but in the state of Massachusetts we have MassHealth. If you apply and qualify you hardly have to pay anything. The benefits are pretty extensive too.

Well, I think that's something we'd all like to know. I don't think such a thing exists. Getting insurance privately and not through an employer is outrageous.

I did hear on the news the other day where they're suppose to be passing some sort of bill for people who make too much money for state aide, but not enough for insurance. Maybe this will help you. You might want to check a government-based website and see if you can find out anything about this.

Good luck.
Either get a job that offers family health care insurance, or pay outrageous prices for your insurance through a private insurance co.
Look into UnitedHealthCare. If you are employed with a major corporation they should have a few companies that you can choose from. If your self employed it will make it more expensive, but there are alternatives. Go to webmd, I believe they have a health hub where you can do cost comparison on different companies, and prices. Health care is ridiculous nowadays, and no matter how you look at it they are always more than they are worth in general. If there aren't copays involved then there is alot of out of pocket expenses involved, and some companies make you reach a deductible before the real coverage kicks in. If you ask me, they are ALL ripoffs.
