From my understanding it is not the time of year, but the time in your cycle that determines whether or not you concieve a boy or a girl. Sperm that are genetically male swim faster than thier female counter parts, but do not live as long. It has been stated that to concieve a boy it is better to have sex closer to the day of ovulation (the day you release an egg). Female sperm do not swim as fast, but survive longer than male sperm.

Sorry, hon, but the gender of your child is determined by genetics not by time of year. You have been misled by an "old wives' tale".
