My bestfriend recently had surgery..?

Question: They gave her Percocet to start with and now Loracet. But she swears she is allergic to Vicodin. How is this possible when they are all cousins of each other.or is it all in her head? I think the one time she took Vicodin she got sick because she didnt eat.

the meds that you mentioned are indeed related to each other. Taking any strong pain killer on an empty stomach will make anyone sick. It not only causes nausea, but lightheadedness & even sweating. That's why the prescription bottle should say to take with food.

They're all pretty much the same thing in different doses. Her reaction was probably what you think it was. Maybe she can get along with Extra Strength Tylenol or some other OTC pain med now? Good luck and quick healing to your friend!
