if an upper jaw is broken, what could the after effect be?
Question:
Answers:
Your friend has suffered a head injury and the symptoms you describe are normal, but should be relayed to his doctor who should be monitoring his progress. When you hit your head, your neck is going to hurt from the shock of impact, that's expected. Upper jaw and sinus fractures can cause pain while chewing for a long time to come. I broke my upper jaw, nose, cheekbone, and orbitol (sp?) bones in an accident about 13 years ago. It hurt to chew anything for months. At first I lived on milkshakes. I had all the symptoms you describe for months, but eventually they faded. As far as long-term after effects, everything healed fine (after surgery), but to this day I sometimes get severe migraines occasionally, and I never did before the accident.
Good luck to your friend.

Those are all after effects of a broken jaw. He needs to see his doctor - he may need an MRI to check for complications.
He needs to go see a doctor. If they don't find any problems, atleast he could get some perscription strength pain meds!
well prolly wouldnt be able to chew food for awhile
Sounds like he has post concussive syndrome.
It is neurologist time however because there are other things less common some of which are deadly that might be going on. he could, for example, have started a slow bleed or weakness that is creating pressure in the skill. tumors and all kinds of other nastiness is possible.
he needs to see doctor
Have your friend get to the ER and have head scans done immediately! He could have any number of things wrong from a concussion to a life-threatening blood clot. Also, his broken jaw needs to be reset or his teeth won't align affecting his ability to speak properly and chew food. If you can, get him to the hospital yourself right now. No kidding!
Yah, that all sounds about right. The upper jaw is basically the skull. Any break of it can affect the brain.
I think he should call his Dr
Even though they may not have found something wrong when he had the accident there could definitly be something wrong now
Sometimes those kinds of things don't show up right away
