Sounds to me like a pinched nerve. I get them sometimes.
See a chiropractor.
Consider the way you sit and the chairs yo use.
May be your bed mattress. If this repeats, consider something like the Select Comfort Bed. I tried one in a store, and I may buy one.
If the problem persists, ask your GP for a referal to a back pain specialist.
It sounds like you might be having Muscle Spasms......Pls go to the Doctors.........Probably give you Muscle relaxers.....Motrin....Pain pills......and refer you to a Physical therapist..... I had the same experience a few months ago could not move though......I had to go to the Hospital Emergency Room. Good Luck and Hope you feel better real soon......

This is not a diagnosis but it is possible that you have a pinched spinal nerve or even a disk disorder. Do you recall any recent trauma? Have you used twisting motions while lifting?
Your best bet is to see your health care provider for evaluation and possible referral.
In the meantime, analgesics and a heating pad may offer some relief as well as avoiding lifting heavy objects or twisting your upper body to prevent further trauma. Ask your provider to teach you good body mechanics. Good luck, my friend. I hope there is a quick resolution to this.
I first saw a chiropractor many years ago because one day I woke up and could barely walk, like you. Radiating pain down your leg is a sure sign of a impinged/pinched nerve exiting your spine, probably in your low back where the pain is.
Ask for a referral from friends/family/coworkers for a chiro. There's lots of good ones and bad ones out there, like any health care profession.
Once the pain has subsided, you might want to look into some Structural Integration work to prevent this from happening in the future.
