Why does this keep re-curring??
Question:
I took all the tablets, anti-biotics and anti-inflammatories, rested and got over it in about 9 days.
It came back about 4 weeks ago to the same extent, again, went to the doctor got the pills, followed the routine and off it went.
It is now coming back, I can feel my throat getting sore and itchy again, ears are hurting etc...........why does it keep coming back?
Answers:
Depending on what type of bacterial infection it is, it could be caused by a number of factors that are still occurring in your life, the most likely culprit being stress.
Bacterial infections such as thrush are well known to be caused by, for example, stress, the type of shower gel you used (in particular, heavily perfumed ones are bad), overheating (e.g. wearing too tight pants), and other seemingly innocuous things.
If this is affecting your throat, nasal passage, & inner ear as well, then it sounds like the most likely cause for re-occurance has to be stress.
That is of course assuming that the doctor has diagnosed and treated it correctly, and you have followed the instructions for taking the tablets to the letter (such as what times of the day, no alcohol, round mealtimes or an hour before or after eating as required, etc.)
It is also possible you may have somehow aqcuired an unusual anti-biotic resistant strain. In which case, certainly if it is affecting your vagina, it may be worth going to a Genito Urinary or sexual health Clinic - it doesn't have to be an STD for them to treat you, and they will likely be more experienced in matters of resistant strains and unlike a GP actually looking at the microbes under a microscope to determine which exact bacteria it s.
Also they more commonly give more powerful anti-biotics and in heavier doses.

Is there a doctor in the house?
Are you taking your ABs as prescribed i.e. with the correct time between doses?
Need a different drug maybe.
Hard to say - could be there's another antibiotic that would work better, or a longer duration of therapy might be the answer.
you must be really run down and low, thats all i can think of im afraid
get back to the doctor as son as you can to get it sorted out or if not happy see another doctor
maybe you have a challenged immune system or bad health ....if your are a healthy, average weight, sleep adequately, don't smoke or drink. I can't see what the problem is. If you think something you do in your everyday life is affecting this condition of yours work on it. GOOD LUCK
Ask your doc for a referal.
Either something in the environment your in is making it reappear or the anti biotics just aren't strong enough, go back to the doctors and ask for advice and stronger tablets, good luck.
I am not a doctor, but I do know that antibiotics are only effective when taken properly. I personally would be sure to see your doctor again ......but I would also try some natural help...immune builders. GARLIC, OIL OF WILD OREGANO, there is a liquid made from grapefruit seeds but I can't remember the name that is a great antibacterial agent. drink lots of water, maybe try NONI juice...in short go to your local reputable health food store..ie SANGSTERS or something, where they have NATURE'S SUNSHINE and NONI products..or other reputable herbal lines and talk to the people there they will no doubt be able to give you information on what you can take with whatever you get from your doctor. And any time you are on antibiotics you should take ACIDOPHILLOUS (sp?) it regulates the good bacteria in your system that is killed by the antibiotics.
It sounds to me that your immune system is down and garlic, water and rest, and good food, are basically going to be of some good either way.
Also you could go and see a HOMEOPATH, who is not a herbalist...whole different kind of medicine, but they heal with a type of philosophy that is from Germany and used all over in Europe, that works with the body to help it heal without side effects.
Some of the natural and Homeopathic treatements are pricy, but compared to constant illness and infection, it pales. If you don't have your health......
Anyway, hope some of that helps. Take care and I hope you get better soon.
4 weeks ago (very hot weather)...
The majority of those symptoms sound like hay-fever - consider trying an off the shelf allergy tablet, Asda or Tesco stuff, or Zirtek/Piriton - they should be OK with anti biotic/inflammatory.
I think your Dr should take a swab from your throat and see just what it is , it could be cultured and the best antibiotic used which will destroy it, sounds to me like you are allergic to something.
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. I do not approve of antibiotics for everything. The reason it keeps coming back IS because of the anti biotics. They damage our immune system. What you have to do now is take something that will put a barrier around the I/S try ECHINACEA and Garlic capsules (odourless) It takes a while to get into the system but it works,If you want anymore help contact me.
