What are some ways to help you fall asleep at night?
Question:
Answers:
If there are things on your mind that are keeping you awake, which accounts for a lot of insomnia, keep a pad and pen by the bed and when things come to mind jot them down then let them go out of your head. Also, reading, or playing solitare, (or anything with unexciting repetition) will tire the eyes and fail to really stimulate the brain. Lastly, if you feel physically restless, try the following: lie in bed flat on your back, arms at your side. Starting at your toes, clench each muscle for a count of three and then completely relax it. Do this with each part of your body up to your head (and back down if necessary!) Sometimes our muscles need to be reminded to relax and unwind for the day!

WARM MILK IS A NATURAL WAY TO INDUCE SLEEP.
READING, BODY MASSAGE, TAKE A BATH USING THAT PURPLE BOTTLE FROM JOHNSON & JOHNSON TO RELAX YOU. CLEAN SHEETS SPRAYED WITH LAVENDER LINEN SPRAY.....JUST TO NAME A FEW!!!
I know how you feel, I am the same way. I usually read, watch a movie, or just listen to music. The music can't be anything that makes you want to rock out though...lol. I have to be careful with that because I will put in lostprophets or something and I never fall asleep, because I end up singing to the entire CD. Try not to think about anything to deep. Hope you find something that works!
I take a really warm shower before I go to bed.
meditate 10 or 15min (or however long you like) before laying down to sleep. Works wonders.
Relax...lay down and just think about your breathing. you also use this exercise in acting if u dont want to laugh. i sometimes have trouble sleeping too. this ALWAYs helps. just key word...concentrate hope it works for u :)
Melatonin or Valerian Root. If you try the melatonin, get a sub-lingual type. It dissolves underneath your tongue so it gets into your system faster. Melatonin is a natural vitamin that helps you fall asleep faster. Good Luck
Treat yourself to a money shot right before bed, try to get it in the eyes. It should crust shut and you'll be relaxed. Do it.
i used to have falling asleep problems, however now i think i have it down. all i do is close my eyes and keep them closed. it used to not be that easy. when i first figured this out i used a shirt or bandanna to cover my eyes. sometimes i still use my bandanna, but that is when it is light out and i need sleep. they sell covers for your eyes those might help. i still say it all relies on keeping those eyes closed! oh dont try to hold the eyes closed tight, just keep them closed soft, real relaxed!
Hi Alex,
Sometimes, I can't fall asleep. I play games on the computer, read, or lay in bed and flip the channels on my tv. It seems, I always fall asleep when I find a good movie and then that's when I want to stay awake until the end of the movie, but I'm sleepy then. Try drinking warm milk or chamomile tea. The herb chamomile relaxes you. So warm chamomile tea will certainly relax you and help you fall asleep. I also read my bible or a book by a favorite author. I hope I have been some help. Good luck and God bless you to get some good sleep.
hi, i have the same problem. sometimes i cannot sleep at all. i have tried a lot of things like, a cup of hot chocolate or holicks, counting sheep and cup of warm milk with a banana. But i find that the best thing for me is to have a DVD that i know very well playing in the background. i know the words and i can see the images in my head without looking at the screen. this doesn't always work but it definitely always makes me more sleepy. and if you are having real difficulty getting to sleep and it starts affecting your day to day life don't forget the doctors are always there to help. hope this helped in some way, bye.
Valerian Root... its natural and works better than melatonin.
all else fails get a script for Ambien ... stuff works!!
maybe you need a mild sedative to fall asleep talk tot your doctor
Make sure you have a comfy pillow, for starters. Don't drink any caffeine after 2pm or so!
