Answers:
my partner fell off a step and torn all the ligaments in his foot,he went to hospital and had a x ray too check the damage.they strapped his foot up with tight support bandage and gave him crutches.he had 3 weeks off work (advised by the doctor)he had too keep his foot raised and not put any pressure on it for a few weeks.ask your hospital for some crutches and have complete rest.hope you get better soon.

Other Answers:
I got mine torn when I was running

It takes a good while for torn ligaments to heal.
Keep your weight off of that foot and take whatever therapy procedures they prescribe. It will get better, but depending on the severity of the damage might bother you from time to time throughout the rest of your life.

yes. left ankle. was in bed for 3 weeks and was limping for another 4-5.
Lots of patience this thing requires.

Yes, I was on crutches for 3 months. Dr said it would have been better (faster healing) if I had broken the ankle. It hurts for such a long time! its not gonna get better.I tore my ligaments in both ankles over 20yrs ago..should have had an op to replace them..but declined..wish I hadnt now..ankles are a weakness and I am forever turning over on them..now I have probs with my achilles..and also my knees..all down to wear and tear and not getting my ankles done..sorry to put you on a downer. :-(

It will take several weeks for this injury to heal and it may still occasionally bother you for a year or more. Be careful and give your ligaments time to heal.

Tendons as well as ligaments can take several weeks and or months to heal properly. While I have not torn any ligaments, I have ripped the tendon off of my bone. This required surgery to reattach and it took several months before I was 100% healed. If you are not satisfied with your doctors answer/s you might want to get a second opinion.

Torn Ligaments..in a word painful hun.
I went iceskating with my friend a few years back..slipped over and tore my ligaments in my knee.
It took me 1 year and lots of courses of phisiopherapy to get better.
I understand your pain (i can still feel the pain now thinking back)
but it will heel.
My advice is see a phisopherapist (not sure if you spell it like that!)

Good Luck Hunny!
