Dimenhydrinate (GravolĀ®)

GRAVOL is particularly effective in dealing with nausea or vomiting associated with motion sickness, stomach- and flu-related illness. Taken orally, GRAVOL is quickly absorbed and starts to go to work immediately to calm symptoms. Relief can begin within 15 to 20 minutes and can last up to 8 hours, depending on the dosage form selected.
Could there be something at your work that is causing you to feel nausea? Do you work in a place that has chemicals, perfumes, or other solvents that maybe you are inhaling that you don't know you are inhaling? In Canada we have a medication called Gravol that works for nausea, and dizziness, but in the U.S you have Dramimine(sp?). It is available at all pharmacies or drug stores, and is non-prescription. It is used for motion sickness, nausea, follow package directions, or if your problem is that bad go to your doctor.
Dear Owensatnet,
A cure as you request is not that simple and may result in covering
up a more serious condition. Ginger tea is a good quick fix when
the nausea occurs, but it is not as effective as a preventative. There
can be many reasons for this nausea, diet, exposure to chemicals
at the work site, gastritis, bacterial infection of the stomach, stress
related to work, etc. There are two things I suggest; firstly, you need
to have a thorough medical exam, especially by a gastroenterologist. Secondly, whether or not any results come from this exam, you need to "take stock" of your life situation. That is, to truly examine how happy you are at work, how good or
bad your present diet is for you, do you exercise enough, etc. These are factors that could play a role in your episodes of nausea. The first step is to determine if there is a physical cause
for this condition.
