Should we really be working to find cures for disease when the planet is so overpopulated?

Question:
I am sad to see people suffer and whenever someone I know is sick I want them to be cured, but is it really in humanities best interest to cure those whose genes would otherwise not make the grade? Isn't it the next logical step after we've discovered the cures to all diseases (if thats a possibility) that we would then impose limits on birth rates? In other words, what does our current attitude towards health care say about where we are going?

Answers:
haha, so literal in your thinking, you are blinded.

Suppose u get parkinsons, AIDS, cancer, etc.... then would u be sayin this?

Its that certain Areas of the world are overpopulated ( china, india. mexico city, etc) ... and trust me, we should be finding as many cures as we can always... for the betterment of humankind. We cant "cure all diseases" and genetically modify humans.. is this out of a sci fi movie?

Other Answers:
omg ur kidding right. so ur telling me if u suddenly got cancer, you would say "o kill me i have sucky genes"??
what a man
I totally agree with you! Oh man can you imagine what this planet is going to look like in about 20 years? RUNNN!!!!!!!!!!
What makes you think the planet is overpopulated? Mankind occupies less than 1% of the face of the Earth, and there are plenty of resources available to support dramatically MORE people than we have now...

We're just stupid about educating and allocating.
true...but if u knew a clock were ticking on YOUR life...would that be ur attitude...or a loved 1 that were gonna die...i say if modern meds can fix it...do what it takes to cure it then♄
Please ask this when you or someone you love can only be saved by a recently discovered cure. Then you ask yourself if you are in any position to decide the fate of others!
As Darwin said..."survival of the fittest"
I think the planet is overpopulated with idiots asking stupid questions.
Well, here's the problem.

We HAVE to find cures for contagious diseases, for that VERY reason.

The more people on the planet, the more contagious diseases spread, leaving thousands or millions dead.

Finding cures, is something we can really put our hands around.

People in the bedroom? We can't go in there and say, "Okay guys. Knock it off.

There has always been a balance in nature. Even in humans. The more people, the more cases of incurable disease among us. They will die. Like you said. Bad genes.

Nature takes care of that, so we really don't have THAT much to worry about.

See what I mean?
Bad genes? Let someone die because??
Obviously you have never been seriously ill. Impose limits on birth rates.?? Think about what you are saying. Would that your parents had stopped having children. Where would you be?
Have you been hanging around Nazis?
there are way too many people on this planet, but instead of letting people who are sick die couldn't we just kill all the stupid ones. some of the sick people may be the most valuable to humanity while the idiots are just... well... idiots.
we need to stop having children everywhere. I live in texas and with all the help that the goverment gives, the mothers and fathers are just having sex ans see them with 3 4 or 6 children feeding them with the money of our taxes. I am not against to support children but we have ti stop the parents.
RIGHT...................you will probably continue to have this opinion until you are the one suffering and needs the cure. you sound a bit Hitler-ish.
Yes I see what you are saying my answer is not to be a donor on my drivers license if I kick the bucket-its not natural, nobody gets my parts
Rod Serling made a short storie about you, a long time ago. Remember that Twlight Zone. Give me a break!!!
