What cures a VERY bad sore throat?
Question:
Answers:
I would suggest calling your doc. There is a distinct possiblility you have an infection. Dont play around with this because your recent surgery in the area of your sinuses makes you susceptible to infections spreading quickly. A quick call can get you peace of mind and maybe some stronger mojo to fight that throat. (i.e. pain meds and/or antibiotics) good luck
Other Answers:
Warm tea with honey in it - the honey soothes.
I gargle with warm salt water , it will feel better
go 2 the doc and get some stupid medicine

been there before
Try salt water gargles..if you are having trouble swallowing this is concerning because it has been long enough from having been intubated for your surgery..I would call my doctor and let him know.
Try Hydrogen peroxide.
Warm salt water, don't drink it just gurgle it in you mouth.
Gargle with warm salted water.
Having been a professional singer for many years I have found that in addition to chloraceptic gargling with warm aslt water and drink hot water with lemon and a little sugar works well. If you are old enough to drink add a little bourbon. It really works well
I was going to say gargle salt water, but that is usually used for sore throat caused by infection. So I'm not sure if that will work. Call your doctor, he should know. Good luck sorry to hear you're in pain.
lick a popsicle slowly
My Mom always encouraged us to gargle with salt water. Since I have sinus trouble, I asked the school nurse who also recommended salt water gargles and snort it up your nose. There's some ready made stuff available, too. I sing professionally and my MD once gave me lidocaine. The guitar player swore by Rock and Rye. I tried it because I had strep and we had a job. Dunno if it helped, but after a couple of those, I didn't care!
I would go with the suggestions of honey and popsicles, not necessarily in that order. If your doctor says you do not have an infection, then it is more likely that the tube abraded (scraped) your throat.
Anything that puts cold in the area (Ice cream!!) will help deaden the pain. Honey, being thick may add a bit of protection over the scrape.
Stuff for sore throats due to colds may not hurt, but may not really help, either.
Nothing can really CURE it. If it's a bacterial infection you'll antibiotics prescribed by a doctor of course. And if it's airborne then the only things that would help are swallowing Vicks, Hot tea with lemons and honey, and goggling warm salt water or Listerine to kill the germs. And just for jokes sakes always remember to brush your teeth. LOL!! that helps also.
The reason I know all of this is because I just got over a sore throat not too long ago. I was sick for almost 3 months. That's why I say nothing can really cure it, because it really does go away on it's own a sore throat does, but these are just some proven things that I know will help ease the pain. Sorry your sick. Sore throats are the worst. Throwing up 1st, cramps 2nd, and sore throat 3rd. LOL!! Good Luck.
Stop getting vain and wasteful operations done on your face.
Gargle with warm salt water. It works every time.
