Why do my fingers swell whe I am exposed to heat outisde?

Question:
When I went walking with my mom (5 miles) it was pretty hot outside. We both noticed our fingers swell up pretty big and immediatly went inside, thinking something was wrong. Why did they do this?

Answers:
Its either ure sentitive to heat or u havent being for medical check up for long now.

Other Answers:
Two things. first, your Mom is sensitive to the heat and swelling is her reaction.
Secondly, you inherited it from her.
Both retaining fluid maybe. Although I don't understand only why your fingers. I would ask a dr. if it keeps happening.
Walking 5 miles means that there was heat generated inside your body as well. Swelling is inflammation. Your body is hot on the inside and is trying to find a way to cool down. Sweating is one way of your body trying to get back to normal temp. The swelling is just a by product of the heat.
you are both low on fluids. You body will strive to keep fluids after you reach a critically low point.

Your hands are down and swinging as you walk, actually pushing fluid into your fingers, and you don't have enough fluids to go around your whole body, so you can circulate it out of your fingers.

solutions:
1. drink lots of water before, during and after your walk.
2. walk during a cooler part of the day, mornings or evenings.
3. elevate your hands slightly as you walk.
