Because the air in your home is dry. Get a humidifier. Also, you can buy some Artificial Tears (NOT!!! regular eye drops) to moisturize your eyes. Baby's got sensitive eyes, huh? Yeah, me too.
Maybe your tear ducts are blocked, or don't work. They make drops for that. But you should maybe see an eye doctor if its really bothering you.
As they eye ages it starts to produce less tears. One sign of dry eyes is actually excessive watering. You can try an over the counter lubricant such as Refresh, or Visine Tears. You can use these drops as much as needed as you cannot overdose on them. If this does not help your problem you can see your ophthalmologist for a prescription for Restasis.
Dry eyes are not an uncommon problem. Systane, refresh, and genteal tears are all great drops or gels to use. Avoid visine - if used too much they can irritate your eyes and cause rebound redness. Your eye doctor can also give you other options for treatment of dry eye.
