Is it difficult to give yourself an enima? Will it TOTALLY clean you out?

Question: I have not had a good BM all week - I think due to IBS. I haven't ever had an enima, but am wondering if it would make me feel better. Is it awkward or difficult to give yourself? Would I be better off taking a laxative?

Answers:
It is not hard to do, just yucky. A fleet enema from the store is all you have to get. Do you get enough exercise? Walking will help. Try a half teaspoon of olive oil. It doesn't taste good, but it will really work. (don't do if you have gallbladder problems). Also, gettting enough water will help this too. Gently massaging your abdomen will also get things moving.
