does glucosamine really work and what are the benifits?

I think it does work, for real or via placebo effect. For those interested in scientific tests, there are some pretty interesting tests done on the effectiveness of placebos...I digress.
I'm not a runner. I use it occasionally now when I have a musculoskeletal and/or joint injury going on to help me heal faster.
I did some research on the quality of glucosamine and came up with this stuff. I'm not affliated, just a happy customer:
Nutrasense Glucosamine-ES, ingredent is 740mg of Glucosamine HCL, which is according to them, more readibly absorbable by the body than Glucosamine sulfate, which is what most stuff is.

Yes it does work. I work for an orthopedic surgeon and the way we tell our patients to tell if it is working is to stop taking it for 2 weeks. Most people say they can notice a difference within a few days.
You don't need to buy the fancy stuff with chondroitin and whatnot, just by plain old glucosamine and take it.
You probably would not get the same benefit by just eating enriched seafood.
The arthritis society published a study on glucosamine. They say it DOES NOT work.
