Is American (USA) blood pressure equipment calibrated in the same way as that manufactured and used in the UK?

In theory blood pressure is measured in millimetres of mercury ie. mmHg and should therefore be pretty standard world wide. so therefore if your blood pressure was measured in the usa it should be the same if it was measured in the uk.
