Is it ok to periodically take 2 multi-vitamins?
Question:
Answers:
If, as you say, this only happens every week or two, you should be fine. The toxic levels of fat soluble vitamins take a while to accumulate. So a few extra milligrams above the RDA occasionally aren't going to hurt you.
Other Answers:
once every week or two won't hurt you at all, if it was daily then you may be concerned with an overdose of the fat solubles and things like Iron. You are perfectly fine with what you are doing!
Take 1, 2, 3, whatever...
Your body flushes out what it doesn't need, no harm done.
Speaking of vitamins... do they have to be so damn big? Really, can't they shrink them?
Take one at a time. Even if you miss one. You are correct: the water soluble vitamins will just get urinated out, but the fat soluble ones could be toxic to the liver in high amounts.
Just because you missed to take your multi vitamin it does justify the reason to take two. Just take one when you remember to take them. Remember you get vitamins from the food you eat too. Also remember that to much of anything can cause more harm that good to your body.
It was very recently reported that multi vitamins pills that so many people around the world pop are of no or very little use. It was an UK /US conducted study on volunteers for last 3 yrs or so.
It shouldn't hurt you. Over the counter vitamins/meds are not at a strength that would damage unless you really take excessive amounts at once.
How much of the pill actually actually gets in to your blood stream is something you may want to look up. It will surprise you on that somethings may only be about 20%.
Get one of those daily pill boxes and load it to keep you straight.
you can take fat soluable vitamins continious for one month and then discontinue that....for next 2 months........in case of water soluable vitamines you can take them continiously without break
Took nutrition first semester last year at UNT:
With fat-soluble vitamins, you shouldn't really do it, though as long as it's not constant it shouldn't hurt you. Your body breaks those vitamins down in your body, but they are the ones that can build up and cause wonderful things like kidney stones.
Water-soluble vitamins, however, can be taken in whatever amount you like; the excess will be let out of your system when you use the restroom. No. 1, particularly.
As for once a week...that's probably a bit much. It should probably be like every month or so. It depends on your body, but with that constant a supply, you could be building up minerals in your body...
1. Better avoid vitamins . Take only if necessary with the advice of the doctor. Since here are harmful especially the fat soluble vitamins - A,D,E,K. the other vitamins will be a a waste. Get them from natural resources like fruits, vegetables, milk etc. 2. Taking vitamins is just like walking with crutches by a normal healthy man.
