My husband will be back to normal by the end of October 2006? Had brain surgery.?

Question:

Answers:
it depends on what type of brain surgery he had done and in what section of the brain..

most people who have brain surgery are never back to "normal" or 100%..the brain is one of the most intensive surgeries done along with surgeries of the spine.

best thing to do is talk to the neurosurgeon who performed the operation-he'll be able to shed some light on how your husband will recover, what side effects are to be expected and how long recovery time will be.

i work in both trauma and neuro icu at a local hospital and i've seen patients that have had major brain surgery recover wonderfully-walking and talking!!

Depends on what kind of surgery doesnt it? Didnt the Doctors tell you?
hope everything is fine, good luck.
If this is a question then you need to talk with his physician since it is he that cares for your husband..I hope that he is recovering but this type of forum is not where you ask medical questions such as this..as you can see from the other replies you get smart stupid answers just to get points..good luck
You better go see the Doc who's doing or did the surgery.
Talk long make him explain everything you ask and some more.
The brain is the hardest of all to do surgery in.
As for back to normal i seriously doubt it.
I'll include you in prayer but go talk to his specialist.
As his wife getting the info shouldn't be a problem.
He`ll be normal. Why else they keep him there till Oct 2006.
don,t worry he will be all right. talk to his surgeon. till october 2006 it is a long time for recovery. he may be better by august.
The word NORMAL is very relative .. do you want a NORMAL husband without brain or a husband without a normal brain ?
i`m sorry, but at least he is safe with you know.thanks god
