Why are some doctors(not all) so cruel?

Question:
My sister's doctor told her that it is impossible that it is impossible that her leg hurts!!! This was after she broke her leg and had 3 fractures. How does the doctor know if she is hurting, he said she is over dramatic!!!! But at least she went to another doctor.

Answers:
Change doctors. The fractures could have been improperly set. She could have healed improperly. Incompetent doctors do not take pain seriously, especially in their female patients. They tend to think it is "mental".

I had a friend die at 26 of a brain tumor after doctors decided she was unhappily married and gave her Valium. When she lost control of her bladder they said she was punishing her husband. Sadly she had to die to prove her doctor wrong.

Many doctors, especially the poor ones have a problem diagnosing problems. When you add their "God complex" it is a real problem for suffering patients.

Please change doctors immediately. Good luck.

I think it's becuase, as we nurses say, doctors take "God 101" in college. Many of them think they're better than others, which results in them acting cocky or mean, just because they're doctors.
Hunni, when my 11 day old son died last year from SIDS, my family doctor told me he suffocated to death, which is b.s. then gave me a hassle about obtaining his medical file which consisted of one whole page....
bone fractures?....sometimes when a bone is broken in a certain way, people won't feel it! It has to be angled towards a nerve to be felt!
Cuz like some people they care and som doctors dont
Because most doctors think they are gods.
some doctors are in it for the money, they really dont care about the patient i would report the doctor you seen if its not a private office and i defintley wouldnt go back their anymore.
Your doctor sounds like a real jerk. : ( He probably thinks he knows everything because he has a lot of money.. and went to medical school, etc. My plastic surgeon is hot! LOL. Had to throw that out there.
I'm sorry you had such a lousy experience with your sister's doctor I but contrary to popular belief, most doctors actually care about their patients. It's just sometimes when patients are very dramatic, it's hard to evaluate the level of pain that they're in. I hope you have a more pleasant experience with your next doctor.
First of all, I am not a doctor or a med. student. I'm a teacher. Ok, here goes: Just think! Society puts you on a pedestal and patients hang on your every word and after awhile, it would become easy to fall into the trap of believing the hype of your own importance. They are only human. They have good days and bad days. The majority of the time patients rarely question them, and when this occurs, they must feel a little defensive and they overreact, instead of pausing and taking the time to think things over (like they advise us to do). As a patient, you must try to get the best care that you can and getting a second opinion is a wise choice. I hope your sister has a quick recovery. Good luck, Doug
I think Doctors, have to become somewhat emotionally detached, after all, they deal with life and death decisions, on a regular basis. If they become too emotionally involved, I don't think they would be in the profession very long..........(:.......That is my opinion of Doctors, in general, but in some cases, you really need to fire your Doc. and go to someone else, your Sis needs to do this immediately!, pain, is one thing no one can see, so you really need to go to a more opened minded, and compassionate Doc..Good luck to your Sis.
he probably was out sick the day they practiced "bedside manner" during med school...Ive seen WAAAY too many Dr's with the "God" complex..(I'm an xray tech)...you should see the way some of them treat us ...were just lowly techs to them..tho they couldn't do their jobs without us !!!....Thankfully your sister found another compassionate Dr to treat her..their are some still practicing..believe it or not !!
