Are horse bot flies harmful to humans?

Question: I spent a good part of my afternoon removing bots from my horse. I had never seen them on her until today. She's on a de-worming regimine, but gets tons of pasture time. I gave the stable a heads-up and checked a couple of the other horses. They didn't seem concerned, but I was just wondering since I removed the bots by hand.

I don't think they harm humans but they sure do sting like the dickens!
