How to remove a stitch on my finger?

Question:
Hi. I had my tip amputated off of my left index finger. It's been 2 months now. But I have a stitch under my skin and a bubble-like blister grew right over it. I made an appointment with my doctor, but I have to wait for 2 weeks. Any idea if I should try to remove it myself or what would happen if I left the stitch under my skin? Thanks.

Answers:
It's obviously trying to remove itself - when the stitch starts to protrude just keep trimming it as close as possible to the skin surface, or pull very gently on it, to see if it wants to come out fully.
If you've had it there this long, as long as the area doesn't look infected, I wouldn't mess with it! Your doctor will probably have to cut into the blister and remove the stitch for you; this should be done under sterile conditions so that you don't risk further injury or infection. Wait the 2 weeks - like I said, you've had it in this long!
