Athletes Foot?

Question:
I have read somewhere that one of the best cures for Athletes Foot is the persons own urine!
Is this true or just an old wives tale?

I suppose I could try it out but would like some answers before doing this?

Answers:
I have heard this is true. I had a friend who was in the Army, and she said that they were encouraged to pee in the showers to help prevent and/or cure athletes foot. I have never tried this myself, but I have known people who swear by it!?!

Other Answers:
I have never heard that one before now

of cos its an old wives tale.athlete foot require medical attention. go to your family doc.. never heard of this, but who knows. I would go to the pharmacy and check out things like lotrimin or other althetes foot products. much less yucky than peeing on yourself!

urine is often used as an emergency aid for nettle or jellyfish stings. have no idea if it works in those instances either!

Some ppl say is true my friend tried and it worked, they also say bleach works, good luck eat well not depend on one food

I have never heard that one before. BUT. I have been told before that soakin your feet in epsom salt helps dry it out. Also puttin baking soda in your shoes and changin your socks regularly. Dont wear the same shoe everyday helps too. Give them a day to dry helps.

I have heard this and if you check certain foot creams they contain urea (which is the chemical found in urine). Don't worry though, they use a chemical urine that is made in a lab, not actual urine! Anyway due to this I believe yes urine is good for feet. I'm just not sure if that's what cures athlete's foot, cause I just checked several creams online and none had urea in them to fight athlete's foot.

Yes, I have heard that peeing on your feet in the shower will help.and why not? There are so many cures for this and I believe everyone needs to find what works best for them. The over the counter meds took too long for me. I found success with Tea Tree Oil. I kept my feet clean and dry, went barefoot or wore white socks and applied Tea Tree Oil several times a day. It worked! Your best bet if you don't have an athletes foot spray is boil some water, next pur it in a small tub to soak your feet in. Let the water cool a bit so you don't end up cooking your feet, but while you're waiting pour in some bleach. Bleach will kill the bacteria from athletes foot. Afterwards rinse your feet to get the bleach off. and dry your feet. This is also good for toe fungus.

Urine is a natural antiseptic and won't hurt you, but peeing in the shower never cured my athlete's foot - Lamasil did.
