big red swollen painful bump?
Question:
Answers:
Could be a boil, could be an enlarged lymph gland. Sounds infected to me.
Hot compresses, keep it clean, neosporin or triple antibiotic.
But in my opinion, since the location is close to the lymph glands.
Go to the MD sooner than Tuesday.
If it's a boil they can lance it, if it is an enlarged lymph gland could need antibiotics.
Prime example why the says don't pop a pimple, The pus never all comes out and some is always forced back down into the tissue.
Sounds like a boil, and those are painful. Put a warm washcloth (as hot as you can stand it) on the affected area to coax it to drain. Once it drains, it'll feel a lot better once all that swollen pressure is out. You might have to do this for about an hour or so and it's pretty gross, but you'll be glad you did it. Also, use Neosporin with pain reliever in it, that helps a lot too.
