What is wrong with my arm? Please take a look and help?

Question:
I am 13 and yesterday was on my friends trampoline and she fell on me. At first my fingers went numb and had a bad pain through my arm, and then pins and needles. After about 5 mins it wore off. But today, It hurts everytime I stretch it. When i straighten my arm out it hurts in the middle, at my elbow. When I dangle it by my side it feels like my hand is about to get cramp and its a bit painful. When it is bent though It is fine. What is wrong? please help thanks

Answers:
You should tell a parent or guardian about this and consult a physician. There could be a few things wrong with your arm..if I knew which fingers were tingly, then I could provide a more accurate description of the possible injuries.

However they are not limited to a traction injury with nerve involvement, a bone chip or fracture, muscle or nerve strain, or nerve impingement. Due to the fact that you have possible nerve involvement, you should see your family physician as soon as possible. It may only be a sprained muscle (requiring a sling and an ace wrap) and not as serious, but it is better to be safe than sorry and you do not want the symptoms to get worse. If the numbness, tingling, swelling, or pain get worse, then immediately see a doctor.

In the meantime, apply ice to the affected area (seems like the focus should be the elbow area) with your arm in a comfortable position for 20 minutes at a time (every 3-4 hours as needed) to help decrease inflammation and pain. (Cold, burning, aching, and numbness are normal sensations that you will feel during application of the ice--you want the area to be numb from the cold at the end of the 20 minutes--and you may see redness after you take the ice off, which will disappear). Additionally, you should rest the arm and keep it in a neutral pain-free position. I hope you heal soon.

Other Answers:
probably just a sprain . . . but if its swelling and turning funny colors, go to an ER.

Sounds like you bruised a nerve. It will probably get better on its own in a few days, but you should see a doctor anyway just to be on the safe side. I would suggest you tell your parents, and have them take you to the doctors for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Go tell your parents right away. You should have an x-ray. If you have an injury to your arm it's very important it is taken care of by a doctor.

ummmm go to emergency room. if wat u felt yesterday went away over a few hours then you would have nothing to worry about but when it goes on to a day or more u should make sure and go to the hospital

I honestly think you might have hurt your self. Ask your parents to take you to the doctor to get it checked out. Please learn to go to the doctor and tell you parents every time you get hurt because some day it may be really serious. It's a sprain and you need to get it supported (wrappred) by a doctor so it will have time to heal properly.

you may have a fracture (brokenbone) or you could have a neuropraxia (bruised nerve). If it is a fracture, you may need a cast or a splint. if it is a bruised nerve.it may take a few weeks to heal and you may continue to have the pins and needles sensation
please see your doctor
