Is it possible to have O - blood type and both parents have O +?

My mother has O+ and she thinks my dad had O+ (he's deceased) but I have O-. Is this possible or is there some other deep dark family secret I need to find out about?

Both parents are heterozygous for the Rh factor. While they each have two genes for the O blood group (since O is recessive), they have two different genes for the Rh factor. They have one for Rh+ and one for Rh-. Since Rh- is recessive, they are Rh+, but have the ability to have children that are Rh-. You recieved the recessive gene from each parent, causing you to have a different blood type.
